Black. Black. Black! Like the clouds of death that follow me into the Forest of Doom! And hide in the wardrobe of darkness! Black!

I'm already thinking... mangetout for a bit of crunch and some tofu fried in sesame oil until crispy.

The implication here, of course, is that you would not be cognisant of said popular music artiste, as you are an old person, which is a humourous device.

Ah, well they're in luck - I think! They were about 20 metres way from our pond (which has so many newts this year!) Hopefully she'll be able to make it there carrying that load?

I'm starting to develop a certain fondness myself too. I found this pair last night. bsky.app/profile/john...

Yes late Feb / early March is typical. My sister down south (Somerset) had spawn in her pond a week ago.

I can't help you I'm afraid.

But I can tell you that you can sing your post to the tune of "The Lonely Goatherd" from The Sound Of Music.

I fear there's no "at risk" about it, Andrea πŸ˜‚

Mind you, they were doing it RIGHT THERE. I mean what if I'd had the vicar coming round for tea or something?😲

This is a screenshot from an Amazon product page. It shows a pair of black men's trousers with lots of large pockets and strengthening sections on the knees. They are described as "MS9 Hi Viz Cargo Combat Holster Pockets Tactical Working Work Trouser Trousers Pants Jeans". Obviously this is for search purposes, but it still sounds silly. Oh, and they cost Β£39.99 and come in 5 different colours.

A small male toad is on top of a larger female toad. The male toad is gripping the female toad using his front legs. The female toad has a look of deep resignation as if to say she couldn't give a fuck, as opposed to the male toad, who clearly is.

Awwww look. The lady toad is giving the man toad a piggy-back up our garden path tonight. He must be tired.

Yes I took a bit of a left turn there πŸ˜‚

Forgive me; I am English and therefore terribly sweary at times.

Hard to be sure, but based on the typical number of bees per hive, it's probably about that.

I did have three hives but one died. It was a captured swarm and it just didn't build up the numbers to keep itself warm enough to survive the winter.

I have indeed. My little Norfolk Terrier some years ago picked one up for about a half of a second, then started hypersalivating. As you say. Shocking!

Luckily our UK toad species (we just have Common and Natterjack) aren't quite as toxic as others. But we are MUCH more vigilant now.
