We have reached out to the editor multiple times and we keep getting ignored.
We are rescinding our submission. The process at this @elsevierconnect.bsky.social journal is clearly broken

Be *very very very* skeptical to submitting to Computers in Human Behavior: Artificial Humans. I submitted a paper there, not a huge paper, but one I was hoping to see the light of day.
We have 1 review in and are awaiting another review. We submitted in August 2024. Yep, 16 months.
*clears throat for scientific journals that say "Americans" when they mean folks from the USA

We cannot allow this to stand anymore! We have prepared a petition calling for a boycott of the next ISPP 2026 conference in Newcastle, UK, unless the Executive Committee resigns or responds to our concerns. Please read and sign the petition here: docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1F...

Especially for short haul AA flights. For example, my brother flies DC to Cleveland and It's 9k points roundtrip through Alaska but flying AA
Academics: In non-facism or genocide related news, the Alaska Summit card gives 3x on foreign transactions. And guess what, Prolific purchases are a foreign transaction.
Alaska Airlines is great for both AA and Alaska air flights.
Many thanks to Seattle University College of Arts and Sciences for co-sponsoring the International Society for Justice Research conference in Seattle. What a great experience for all who joined us!
Special thanks to Mark Petterson for the terrific write-up!

And I think we run into issues when we call things liberal or conservative shifts because the effects are relatively narrow to threat-relevant attitudes (anti-Muslim attitudes re Islamist threat). These narrow shifts are also true of my other work on "liberal" threats.

It's an interesting question you raise (also, hello!). But I think it's unanswerable since we can't go back in time! However, even in 2001, most polls actually show anger as one of the most common emotions people faced after 9/11. Anger, grief, and usually fear/anxiety, typically in that order.
Scientific organizations should reflect the population that theyβre serving.
SPSSI ROCKS!

How do folks deal with skew from programs like LIWC? I'm getting skews in the range of 3 to 6 and I don't think a log transformation makes sense, but would love to hear what you do!
Question for those of you who study realistic/symbolic threat in intergroup/immigrant contexts: In stephan, ybarra, bachman 1999 are realistic and symbolic threat scales mislabeled in the appendix? Has anyone else run into this question?
Thank you!
Vote for me for SPSSI council!
