Yes the assumption that the American system and liberal democratic insts will continue to exist, and that 🇨🇦will get any representation is a huge assumption to make at this moment in time. Likely more of a patron-client relationship

That said, we have a few structural conditions helping us out with democratic resilience: independent but publicly funded media, higher levels of dem trust, better public ed (though certainly not perfect) than the US. /2
