Hotel FT8. Bored in my hotel room so setup my IC-705 with a AD8HK EFRW running 5w to see what would happen. 10+ contacts so pretty funny.

And let the weekend begin! Starting off with some digital using the most excellent KJ6ER POTA Challenger antenna setup. At US-0364/US-0365 for a few hours after work relaxation. Signals seem strong today! It’s also really hot for Minnesota in May. Catch you on the bands! 73 de AD0AA.

First time using KJ6ERs POTA Challenger design. Awesome, QRP with tons of Europe contacts so far. On 15M doing some digital to check things out right now.

SW Utah POTA rove underway! Expect to hit 30 or so parks depending upon conditions in the next two days. Working different modes using an IC-705 at 10W and either a 29’ EFRW or Chelegance MC-750 antenna. Come find me, I’ll spot each park if I can. 73 de AD0AA.

Heading out early tomorrow morning for a couple of days of Wisconsin parks! They will be all new ones to me and mostly in the Madison area. Will be operating digital and voice depending. Will spot at each park if I can. Call early and often, only 12 QSOs planned per park! 73 de AD0AA #POTA

Back here me in Minnesota. Going to activate after work. It’s currently -2 but at least clear!

It’s pouring rain and I need to be at the airport in a few hours but I also really need to activate a park in NJ for my 29th state activated! Stopped at Jenny Jump State Forest, US-4995 doing some FT8 to start on an IC-705, Packtenna 20/10 EFHW and a Gigaparts Explorer mast. #POTA #hamradio

Activating US-1404 w/ US-5466 on digital Qrp for a bit. 73 de AD0AA.

You tune it by both adjusting the whip and the radials. Elevated radials have to be at a specific length. I use an SWR meter to do it. Search on POTA Performer plans to find more specifics.

It’s a Pota Performer. 17’ whip and two elevated, tuned radials. It’s a beast!

Surveyors tripod. Got it for a great price. Excellent for doing POTA as long as you don’t have to carry it far!

Been a hot day on the POTA front! 10M especially has been hot, but also quite a bit on other bands including 6M. Wore my voice out on SSB so back to some digital. Over 160 in the books with a lot of DX and still going! At US-7145 and US-9384. 73 de AD0AA.

Wanted to do SSB but have a work call in the middle. On FT8 right now for another 40 minutes or so!

Ducking out for a lunch POTA activation since I have a slow day at work. Look for AD0AA at US-0364 and US-9384. It will be my 200th activation at US-0364, basically my home park! Probably digitial, maybe some SSB. 73 de AD0AA
