I must admit I like the finish in the top picture, possibly a case of less is more π€
@aorticcyclist
MTB rider for fitness and fun, Mutt minder, Thoracic Aortic Dissection survivor and Coach driver/Operations Manager, Kiddiewinkie relocation professional, builds model railways and aircraft VERY slowly Lincoln UK. Resistance is futile!
I must admit I like the finish in the top picture, possibly a case of less is more π€
A WW1 mk 1 make tank painted in overall brown and partially weathered
I did a thingβ¦β¦β¦β¦
I build a tank, need to build the dio for it now.
Not too bad for a first attempt.

Thatβs got me thinking, Iβve got a bow pen in my railway model tool box somewhere, Iβll have to give it a try on the next kit, I did use it for lining out a OO (1/76) loco onceβ¦β¦β¦.
πππ
very nice mate

Not a bad dayβs work π€£
Need to look at a base for it and some weathering (need to have a dig in the railway scenic stash) and then get driven to despair by the rubber tracks
Resistance is FUTILE MMMMWWWAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAH
Soβ¦β¦.
Waiting for paint for the K2, decided to have a go at something new to me, ATank π€£. Something simple but relevant, the WWI mark 1 male, designed manufactured and tested a few miles from where I live

Itβs going to be a trial run for the Gecko kit featuring Her Late Majesty during her wartime service
OK Due to circumstances beyond my control, an incomplete kit, the 997 is benched (again) while I figure out how to replace the missing bits, so this is now promoted #histscalemodels

The next #buildthestash entry to run alongside the #routemaster
The external cab and radiator area of the routemaster, a small hole has been drilled into the radiator grille to allow a piercing saw to be used to cut out the moulded grille, following the red line, to allow replacement with a photo etched part
The end result showing the photo etch grille in place, this will allow the radiator to be viewed as in the real thing
That went better than it mightβve, cutting out the radiator grille to replace with PE
#routemaster

Front view of the routemaster showing the cab and uncovered engine bay as well as the loose fitted seats on the upper deck
Rear view of the routemaster upper deck and seats
Steady progress on the #routemaster this weekend, downstairs ceiling fitted, now working on the upper deck seats

I used Humbrol clear matt varnish , an acrylic, on some 40+ year old decals on the matchbox Tallboy Lancaster recently with no ill effects. also used it on the Jeep-bulance recently the only odd effect was a slight reaction to the possibly slightly tacky micro sol giving a white colouring
shall have to ask SWMBO for one for my B'day, avoids any #buildthestash issues π€£
Oh Bugger, I definitely need one of these now................
Love it mate, you have got me wondering what I can do to a Triceratops...........
Very nice mate. π
Persuade someone to buy it as a present for a significant day, it doesnβt count as you didnβt buy it π€£π€£π€£
I think he always knew I was keen on buses and this is a few of the bits he sent me after he retired
There are odd bits that are a bit iffy like that but its still impressive.
Its a bit of a homage to my Grandfather, 31 years as driver and inspector at Morden in the 50s 60s and 70s. The bus in my profile pic is Ex London and is my regular daily drive, runs in the family it seems π
not used it personally but have seen it used very effectively on model railway layouts I have been involved with, the club had its own "landscape artist" and we just let him get on with it!
probably get back on the #routemaster for a while and then go back to the sash in a few weeks.
It wasn't too bad other than the stretcher racks which were a tad awkward as they weren't straight.
The white residue I have to admit was a fluke, I think it was a reaction between the Humbrol matt cote and the Microsol, but it worked out well so I decided not to repaint!
Thanks Mate
Italeri 1/35 scale jeep ambulance conversion from WWII. Left side facing towards the left showing the mounting of the stretchers
Iβm calling this (almost) done, just the axe and shovel to add. A decent kit, went together well and didnβt loose too many minuscule parts to the carpet monster

the Bucc is on my hitlist.................. BUT I have a stash to build firstπ
