So I'm a full time author, making between 50-60k/year depending on how prolific I am.
The number of times my in-laws have mocked my job as "not a real job", when I work 9am-3pm and 10pm-midnight, Monday to Friday, and also on weekends if it's during a deadline... every time. It's every time.
I went Saturday and it was so much fun!
