Oh hey, IdeaSmiths CTO @joshdr83.bsky.social did this analysis!
The short version: voting to attack wind and solar is a vote to raise electricity prices and escalate chances of outages and shortfalls.

Rhodes: βAnd that can make a big difference for a rancher or a landholder to have that revenue. β¦ A lot of landowners talked about wind and solar being like a drought-proof crop. It doesnβt have to rain to still get paid.β

Today, solar crossed 26,000 megawatts for the first time ever, meeting >56% (!) of demand (also a record). Previous solar record was exceeded by 1,316 megawatts. Earlier this week wind & solar combined for 39,946 megawatts,, nearly 1,000 megawatts more than the previous record.
There's a new solar record in ERCOT. A few minutes ago, solar exceeded 25,000 megawatts of production for the first time, equaling 52% of demand. Emission free sources (wind, solar, and nuclear) are producing about 75% of power demand today.
To the surprise of no one in Texas rn, wind power hit a record last night at 28,470 megawatts. (It's *very* windy here today.) Another day of nearly 75% of demand met by renewables and 85% emission free.
Heck yea! How do you like the Sol-Ark so far? I really like their flexibility for microgridding. Adding batteries at some point?
Received it just fine, thanks for making the switch!

Hey y'all! Check out our latest report on the impact of renewables & storage in TX!
tl;dr - The current & expected fleet of renewable & energy storage projects is expected to pay almost $50B in lifetime landowner payments & local taxes! π
