I think it would have been much more interesting if they were hiring a MAGICIAN at the associate level

Bedtime convo:
Me: I love you sweetie, good night
6.5yo: Do all multiplications exist?
Me, favoring brevity and sleep over philosophical rigor: Yes.

Poor kid might end up Fregean, and it's all my fault. Parenting is such a huge responsibility.

I don't understand why there are editors who allow publishing papers that don't cite my work, even though it is clearly at least partially in the general vicinity of the area of the ballpark of what might be considered at least somewhat tangentially relevant to them.

Peer review is broken.

In June, I was in Germany presenting a paper at a conference. Israel decided to attack Iran.

Now, I am in Italy presenting a (the same) paper at a conference.

So, probably I should stop presenting this paper? Or attend conferences altogether? IDK. FML.

Could you please get started on quote marks and punctuation?

(Also, one prof in grad school basically berated my grammar in the comments on a piece of coursework. I still get pissy about it.)

They say he's unqualified to comment about economics because he's not an economist.

I'm pretty sure economists are also unqualified to comment on economics.

26 weeks cut, 22lbs lost (with noticeable strength gains). Pretty dope.

In other news, 20 year long effort to get TT job falls off cliff, crashes on boulders, eyewitnesses say.

After 5 straight years of 1yr postdocs and a gazillion failed applications, it looks like I'm officially out of the running for a TT job in philosophy.

Bummer. But at least now I can start mourning it.

On the plus side, I can finally go all in on part time, precarious teaching gigs.
