I find that it's generally people who are brand new to the medium who are just always overjoyed with the new thing that they are experiencing for the first time, and they don't understand why the people who have seen this before keep saying that it's been done better by someone else, or even itself.
Generally Fan #2 just knows alot more about the franchise than Fan #1 and has also been exposed to alot more franchises. It's alot easier to enjoy something when it's the first time you've seen it. Arc Raiders is a great example of that, it won most innovative for being a generic extraction shooter
