P.-J. Proudhon, “Solution of the Social Problem” - The Libertarian Labyrinth The Republic is the organization by which, all opinions and all activities remaining free, the People, by the very divergence of opinions and will, think and act as a single man. In the Republic, ever...

I am working on an expanded edition of "Solution of the Social Problem," which collected Proudhon's work on mutual credit. That project involves collecting writings by his collaborators—a significant selection of which are now linked at the page below:

"But in that case I cannot see why *capital* punishment should be singled out for emphatic and exceptional denunciation. The same objection applies as clearly to punishment that simply takes away liberty as to punishment that takes away life."

"It is reciprocal liberty, and not the liberty which restricts; liberty, not the daughter of order, but the mother of order."

And soaking them is suboptimal compared to eliminating the extractive mechanisms that allowed them to become that rich in the first place. I cringe every time I hear the "their fair share" talking point out of a liberal's mouth, because what's a "fair share" of wealth that's 100% stolen loot?

…rights. We cannot be distinguished from each other so easily. Yawning and laughter are contagious; so are enthusiasm and despair. I am composed of the clichés that roll off my tongue, the songs that catch in my head, the moods I contract from my companions. When I drive a car, it releases pollution into the atmosphere you breathe; when you use pharmaceuticals, they filter into the water everyone drinks. The system everyone else accepts is the one you have to live under-but when other people challenge it, you get a chance to renegotiate your reality as well. Your freedom begins where mine begins, and ends where mine ends.
We are not discrete individuals. Our bodies are comprised of thousands of different species living in symbiosis: rather than closed fortresses, they are ongoing processes through which nutrients and microbes ceaselessly pass. We live in symbiosis with thousands more species, cornfields inhaling what we exhale. A swarming pack of wolves or an evening murmuring with frogs is as individual, as unitary, as any one of our bodies. We do not act in a vacuum, self-propelled by reason; the tides of the cosmos surge through us.

I’m not going to lie, I think Bezos and Musk view the idea of helping people as “weak” or “lame”. The moon is an empty abstract concept they can project their illiterate-to-theme sci-fi aesthetic-addled fantasies onto.

Charlottesville, Revisited—2017 to 2024 Seven years ago, anarchists and other anti-fascists converged in Charlottesville, Virginia to oppose the “Unite the Right” rally. A retrospective.

On August 12, 2017, Nazis and klansmen rallied in Charlottesville in support of Donald Trump and fascism. One of them murdered Heather Heyer.

What distinguishes that killing from the murders of Renee Good and Alex Pretti?

Only this: in 2026, fascists can murder on government payroll.

Abolish ICE.

We might not want to 'take control' of workplaces, any sites of capitalist exploitation, nor negotiate with anyone claiming to own them. Is why I'm not a syndicalist. But there's at least some substance compared to the "call your representatives" strategy.

“Occupy the factories” is the new “don't siege Stalingrad, just take it immediately.” I'm tired of phrasemongering. Why won't and why can't we occupy the factories? Should we even? Let's start with that.
