So, besides a humidifier (the room is too big to make a big deal and I already have a 40g aquarium in here), what can I do to reduce/eliminate shocks? My desk chair seems the worst factor here. Would getting those rubber polyurethane wheels help? Anything else? I'm desperate.

Anyone out there knowledgable about electricity? This building is really old and really dry. I seem to attract static electricity like a savant. I am having trouble where I am damaging electronics (and myself) with shocks. I try and discharge myself first but forget quite often.

Adhd teacher mode: get hyper fixated on fleshing out your essay tutorial handout and spend 2 hours on it late on a Monday of a long weekend. Think it’s probably good but doubt anyone will ever read it.

Nah, I’m just looking at getting new cables for various things and want something that’s going g to work for charging and data transfer. The new standard is 240w apparently but most power adapters are like 20-60w still unless you are spending your life savings.

@primebane.bsky.social hey, can you tell me what the point of buying a 240w USBC cable would be if the adapter to the wall is only 20-40w? Like, do I need a $100 adapter for the cable to mean anything?

If he did something inappropriate, then sure, I guess. But I feel like way too often, people don't appreciate other people's time and efforts enough. Dude wasn't getting paid. He was just there to help some kids out because there is never enough coaches/volunteers.

The thing is, this guy volunteered. I didn't. He didn't have to be there. I don't feel like I've got the right to criticize unless there's something going on that is unhealthy for the kids. If I want to control how things go, I should volunteer.

Here's my thing, would I have handled certain things differently than that coach? Sure. Do I have opinions on how things could be better? Who doesn't?

Small rant: My son's (8) basketball coach (volunteer, non-parent) resigned today. There was some hubub about him maybe saying a swear to the kids. I was there and heard nothing and my son says he didn't hear anything.

I am not 100% sure but I feel like it was a bit of a crusade

Had leftover ingredients so made myself stuffed mushrooms for lunch. No ragrets.

Got all of my reference letters done before the break. Out of those student's first choices, there are:

2 to Princeton
2 to MIT
1 to Harvard

I'd say there is a good shot 2/3 of them get that first choice. There are a lot of things about my job that are a lot of work but those make it worthwhile.

I made Ashley some xmas gift wrapping tools. The two clamps hold the roll steady at the edge of a counter or table and the little hand tape dispenser should make things easier. Not sure if she is going to love it or call me an idiot, lol.
