I'm hot, anxious, and about to be broke. Can't take much more at the moment.

9:20, my Dad's text wakes me from a restless attempt to sleep in. Something is up with Mom. I leap into clothes, get the car and race to their house. She's incoherent, high fever, etc. We have to call EMS.
Hour 5 at the ER now and we know nothing, as usual.

It also blows my mind that we have a vaccine so good at preventing cervical cancer that they're estimating we could completely eradicate it within a generation with enough vaccinations.
And yet, our government is actively working to ignore the science and bring back the dark ages of disease.
I'm GenX when chicken pox parties were still a thing. It blows my mind that my son has never and will never have to deal with that disease thanks to his vaccinations.
Or shingles for that matter. I can only hope now that I can still get that one next year when I'm eligible...

My mother had a Main Coon who managed to swallow her needle and thread in the milliseconds her back was turned.
He miraculously managed to pass it safely while being monitored at the vet's. My mother learned her lesson though.

By the time I'm in the parking lot, I'm shaking, pulse is racing, starting to sweat. Full on low blood sugar crash. I make it in the store, grab (and pay for) the first candy I see, and wolf it down. After a few minutes, I'm recovered enough to start on my list.
In today's episode of "getting older sucks":
I never eat breakfast. Just can't, food too early makes me nauseous. Trying to get lunch today was a comedy of errors and so didn't happen. Nevermind, I'll get a decent dinner after my trip to the grocery store, no worries.
