Top films of 2025, still some more to tick off but happy with this selection.

How dare you, I will not take this insult sitting down normally.

This is really disappointing stuff, both seemingly the attitudes taking place within the 'party' and the very public ways it has seemed to be very disorganised. I want a left wing party that can make a strong impact, but it's beyond evident that this party is The Greens.

Conclave manages to capture the phenomena of ‘too ridiculous to be serious and too serious to be ridiculous’. Great film.

I play chess on the same site quite often, and don’t have any friends who play, so it’s nice following along with someone who’s learning.

I really like Gunn’s theme and character work, and think he’s a great storyteller. For me, it’s his humour that I can’t get behind. All the ‘us Eastern Europeans say American things no?’ and self indulgent quips is way less entertaining than when he’s trying to tell an interesting narrative.

The Q&A must have been great. I thought it was a fantastic journey of faith and dissolution, stunning film.

Documenting the legal battles and arrests Just Stop Oil activists have faced, it’s a terrifying look at the state violence towards climate protestors, freedom of protest, and the nature of truth.

I’m literally trying to get shadow heart out of the chamber and running around in circles, this is not my usual style of gaming but I’m having fun ✨

Literally just bought Baldur’s Gate 3 today, looking to connect with more players as I try and figure it out.

Finally watched ‘A Murder at the End of the World’ and while I enjoyed it, I feel like criticism of billionaires in fiction never extends beyond personal faults of the characters, which limits systemic analysis.

Still enjoyed the show though, a fun environment with interesting characters.

Thank you for people making recommendations. I think I’ve been put off trying to get into the franchise due to their being so much it can be daunting, but I could use some good sci fi with a pragmatist optimist look towards the future.
