Here’s some more photos of this monster (her name is Lute - she is deaf and has Cerebellar Hypoplasia so she wobbles when she walks!)
Warning: these photos do include photos of yarn crimes
God my cat is more famous than me 😭💀 Lute was truly born to be a star
I also don’t think arguing against “intact mind” makes you automatically advocating that “unintact mind” - that’s an assumption that could further divide people instead of clearing misconceptions on both sides and opening conversations to help each unique individual within the communities we serve.
Because there is a difference in necessary support for me versus another autistic to succeed. And there has to be a way to talk about that in a person-centered way while still realistically acknowledging potential difficulties or necessary supports.
I agree we need to change the way we talk about autism and mental health in general. What kind of language do you think would best describe autistics who may need more support than others? I’ve seen pros and cons of high support v. Low, high functioning vs. low - do we have a good way rn?
Is this from an actual survey, or are you saying hypothetically if one did a survey?
How are positive reports of ABA services received by autistic in the NDM?
Man stands up to oligarchs
Could you tell me more about why the NDM feels ABA is not acceptable in ANY form? What about autistics that do report they benefited from ABA services? How is their experience acknowledged in the NDM?
(Again want to reiterate I’m not being a smartass)
So where did this concept of the intact mind come from in the article? Is that characteristic of the NDM? Has it been historically associated with the movement or is it an over generalization?
Could you help me understand what these misrepresentations are and what the correct interpretation is? I’d like to better understand the Neurodiversity Movement as an Autistic and an ABA provider.
(I am genuinely looking to have a conversation about this, not be a smartass/argue)
In wait of your sources, I did want to provide a favorite read of mine. It was an assigned reading in my graduate ethics course that I identified with as an autistic individual and have used it since to inform my current practice.

Also, could you clarify, are you talking about the field of ABA as a whole or a specific sub-specialty of ABA? It’s been applied to a number of fields, each with their distinct body of research.
I would love to see these sources if you’re open to sharing!
I’ve also done a lot of research and read current literature on a daily basis and I don’t see these claims reflected in the literature so I would love to gather some additional insight!

Okay, this is way better than I expected it to be. Times are dark, so I'm here for a billionaire governor trolling our President.

I was told we were going to a place called let it fly and I was thrilled to go to a trampoline park and then I found out it’s literally just a bar and I want to cancel
I just need Bluesky to add a “save to drafts” feature because sometimes I start to have a funny thought but it needs to marinate in the drafts for a couple months before I finally get there
FINALLY. This should have happened years ago.
Me recently in a job interview: “In 2025, I really want to grow in my advocacy as a provider with autism working in the autism field and grow my research in areas like cultural responsiveness and accommodating neurodivergence in the workplace!”
