I have known children that have had less tantrums their whole lives than Trump has in a single day. How did we get here? #disbelief
So, my husband @thatssosterling.bsky.social and I did the thing. πβ¨
We're very excited to be homeowners again but this time in Maryland!
15/52 complete... How did I fall so far behind in my goal to read 52 books this year? I am currently reading the Murdberbot Diaries by @marthawells.com; only three more of the series left... what's next? #booksky
Deep Past: A Novel by Eugene Linden. Image of book cover that is a sunset of at plateau in a desert region.
Resurrecting Bart: A Deep Past Novel by Eugene Linden. Image of book cover that is a charcoal drawing of an elephant.
What happens when you make the discovery of a lifetime? How about the discovery that will change humanity's very understanding of the universe? Deep Past & Resurrecting Bart by @eugenelindenauthor.bsky.social are pivotal pieces that deeply explore what makes us human. βΎοΈ β #booksky π π
As someone currently in the market to purchase a new home, it has been crazy to watch (and be part of) the market changes.
Camp Damascus, by @chucktingle.bsky.social, brought me to chills. This was an exquisitely emotional read that delved into how community can either bring joy or drain the life out of us, depending on whether that community accepts us with unconditional love.βββββ #booksky π π
Another week, another seriesβ¦ Shawn Inmonβs Lost Eden series brought me to world of conflict. This series isnβt about prose or beauty but about an adventure that spirals out of control. A prime example of how an author can accidentally scramble a plot with too many left-field ideas. ππ
John Varleyβs Thunder & Lightning series is a masterclass in narration. A believable, yet intensely unique future unfolds unwittingly in the laps of the next generation. Sound familiar? 3/5, would recommend purely for his artistic use of perspective and narrative. #booksky ππ
βProblem was, whenever I locked eyes with an animal I felt something more soulful than I ever felt from the humans I knewβ¦β Lynda Rutledge artfully renders the question of immortal legacy. A heart wrenching story about hardship, mortality, and our lost stories, evaluated beyond reproach. ππ
Arenβt we all a little bit alien? Where the Forest Meets the Stars explores how hardship changes us in the most bizarre, beautiful, and haunting ways. #booksky ππ
Mammoth by John Varley takes a trip through time in this predictably unpredictable parable on the unique complexities of our universe and the connections we make along the way. My first John Varley novel, and Iβm excited to read his other works. #booksky ππ
Get your Merry Measure outβ¦ because Go Luck Yourself by Sara Raasch is the comedy romance we needed this spring. Following a similar structure as her first of this mini-series, this book is pure Joy. I would have loved more from the story arch and the endless wonder this universe has to offer but 5βοΈ
The Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller is a dramatic masterpiece that brings unique perspective of ancient story lines. This often slow moving train takes its time in bringing life to charismatic characters.
Stone Blind by Madeline Miller is an artful introspective on what it means to be the narrator. This dark, yet humorous piece gives the reader a symphony of questions about how we create our stories. There is no truth in a story, only a perspective.
What have you been reading?
This year has been a slow start, but I just finished Stone Blind by Natalie Haynes, and before that The Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller. See inline for my thoughts, and let me know how you felt about these!
The lesson of having high expectations and the acceptance that these expectations will be rarely met is something I was not prepared for as an adult.
Target... how many lives do you think you have changed by seeing #LGBTQ people, representing them, & supporting them. As a proud previous Target employee, this was the first company that saw me for me, gave me hope that even in a red state, I could be safe. That's Target. NOT THIS.

For those that don't know, @thatssosterling.bsky.social and I are in the Philippines for the holidays! πβ¨
During Christmas Day, we had a family reunion with both sides of the family. The last time I can recall we had a reunion was about 15 years ago, probably longer.

The amount of research coming out about the decline of various species is frightening. My biggest dream as a kiddo was to not only see African #elephants in the wild but to help in the #conservation efforts. What's left to live for if all of what makes this world special goes to flames?
Also, this zombie is either planning a global tour #events or global domination. How can we be sure which?
A sci-fi-inspired depiction of a zombie working from home, seated at a desk with three high-tech computer screens glowing with futuristic holographic displays. The zombie looks tired but determined, with a slightly disheveled appearance, wearing casual yet modern clothing. The home office is brighter, filled with natural and artificial light, and lush with various green plants hanging and placed around the room. A sleek Russian Blue cat lounges on a futuristic windowsill in the background. The overall vibe combines sci-fi, cozy home office, and spooky charm in a vibrant and detailed setting.
Zombie Wednesdays.
Is it just me, or is this week giving depressive feels?
Send motivational cat pictures, please.

Does this mean we should be ordering stamps? β¦ or maybe we need to start with making our holiday cards? #AskingForAFriend
The best part of the week is starting a new #book. Dreaming of #cephalopods rather than dictators.
