I am with you on these ones too, I see them misused a lot too.
English is a silly language because of that sort of thing. I can't speak for other languages, of course, but I assume it's not unique to English, it just feels like English has so fucking many homophones confusing things.
Of course, I'm gonna be embarrassed if I fucked anything up here but that's natural, we live and learn.
Now, the palate cleanser/palette cleanser typo is understandable and can also be seen as wordplay, so it doesn't bother me as much, but it still bugs me.
The Correcto Boy lives on in my head, but it's pushed down out of sight, but bubbles up sometimes.
Palate: The roof of the mouth/sense of taste.
Palette: The thing you mix your paint on/the range of colours or elements used in a piece of art.
Pallet: An assemblage of wooden boards used for transporting goods.
I gotta make some sort of spelling primer for hobbyists:
Hoard: a large quantity of objects.
Horde: a large quantity of people/animals/moving living things.
