But in general, she said, “saying we aren’t attaching a dollar figure to health effects is like saying we aren’t putting a price tag on clean air or safe drinking water. Dollars and cents don’t define their worth.”
The to understand the rhetorical trick: Saying that the value of a statistical life is too uncertain that you're not going to include it means that you're implicitly assigning it a value of zero.
We had our two street trees in front of our house die (naturally) and we have been waiting YEARS for the city to plant new ones, despite repeated requests.
Unless the city addresses this, our tree canopy will continue to shrink. I don’t see anything shared in this article that will help.
