TERFs have fully poisoned the well with regard to the phrase “socialized male” but many of us would be solidly benefitted by taking a long hard look at how often we interrupt, assert authority, and generally dominate social spaces we’re in.
Thermonuclear take: it’s incoherent to acknowledge that many trans women must spend time learning makeup, fashion, voice work, &c. if we want to fully engage in those aspects of femininity while also decrying any suggestion that we may also need to UNlearn certain social behaviors as transmisogyny.

Octopuses have extremely good proprioception insofar as the limbs are semiautonomous and extremely poor proprioception insofar as their "main" brain isn't very great at knowing what the limbs are doing. They have a much more distributed nervous system than we do.

Yeah, they’re absolutely fascinating. Have you read Adrian Tchaikovsky’s CHILDREN OF TIME sci fi series? Octopuses feature. He does an excellent job of thinking about how evolved cephalopods might be sapient in extremely different ways from us.
Which is a problem for me because I know myself well enough to know that my predilection for dairy would require children at gunpoint for me to stop eating ice cream.
