As I poke through my old D3D12 project, I am realizing that I have a really bad habit of quitting projects once they hit a certain level of complexity 🫠 But it's been fun figuring out what the heckeroni past me was thinking and planning to do 😆
The trick is to use large arrays instead of custom allocators, avoid memory allocations as much as possible, and RefCell when you need interior mutability.
One of the biggest frictions for me learning Rust has, unsurprisingly, been the borrow checker. I guess I am too used to having things my way in C 😄
However, once I started programming as if Rust were "modern" C++, I mostly stopped having problems with the borrow checker!
