I agree with you about Layton, but disagree about Mulcair. Nevertheless, we are at a point where the Liberals are the only party that can stabilize Canada. The NDP have lost relevance and the Conservatives are the wrong party with the wrong people.
Layton would have been a great PM. Mulcair was a good leader. The party doesn't appear to have people like this anymore.
In 2011 they had a pragmatic leader in Thomas Mulcair. They haven't had a decent one since then. If the NDP is going to survive, it needs to adopt a Scandinavian socialist platform and truly be different. Right now, they have no leader, no ideology, and are totally irrelevant.
