After years of working in higher education - designing training programmes that have huge impact on researcher development, mentoring researchers and watching them develop into impactful communication gurus - we’ve decided to offer our expertise through 𝗦𝗺𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗟𝗮𝗿𝗸 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴.

I've been working with a local publisher friend of mine to get researchers short stories about their work/how they support research published in a book.
We've run a competition at UoN and have been INUNDATED with stories 🎉🥳

It's been ages since I've posted on BlueSky. I've become very social media fatigued over the past few months. I never thought I'd say that as a former social media researcher! Redundancies ripping through our training and development team have meant I've just lost the drive to engage!

Today, the Researcher Academy said goodbye to a treasured colleague and friend - Alison Johnson.
It was emotional, tough and just didn't feel right.
Alison has taught me a hell of a lot, has passed on so many words of advice and wisdom and is about as irreplaceable as you can get.

This afternoon we had our Researcher Academy Christmas Quiz and buffet.
I played the role of Quiz Master and devised numerous interactive rounds: Christmas Toy Anagrams, Christmas Song Emojis, Celebrity Picture Round, Christmas Trees from around the World to name a few!

It's great to be involved in Vitae's Peer Mentoring Circles initiative.
Yesterday I met colleagues from other institutions (who aren't on BlueSky 😔) and we're going to be problem solving and knowledge sharing over the coming months.

On Tuesday, I did some introductory research communication skills training with our researchers @uniofnottingham.bsky.social
We did an activity where they communicated their research using Lego - which sparked some very creative outputs! 🥳😎
