"Counsel, can you direct me in the record to where it's identified as a poisonous snake?"
A Nazi who was excited about the idea of "civilizing with a Krag," yes
Using some sort of UFC fighting move?
We've had to resort much, much more to asking Congressional offices to step in, because we can at least expect their inquiry letters to receive an informed response. These are things we used to be able to handle with just a good contact at the local office.
It is. But our friends across the sea need teasing about it now and then.
The big problems are difficulty of communications and brain drain. SSA's new phone system makes it MUCH more difficult to speak with who you need to in field offices and the loss of staff means that the new people, who you can at least occasionally get on the phone, don't know how to fix problems
This way we'll receive the oil pre-burnt. Efficiency!
I did chemistry in school, but I've never thought about sulphur before. Sulfur, on the other hand...
Well, your lawyer is cursing your lineage anyway. βAnyone know the timeβ is a yes/no question. Donβt be giving more information than necessary.
Just as soon as we have a dilithium moderated anti-matter fueled generator up and running weβll be able to manage our fossil fuel supply.
A pessimist would have something to say here.
Portions, yes, but not all of the Jesus references.
I mean, that's straight Fs in a semester after decent grades in earlier semesters. Speaks to me of someone who dropped out without bothering to withdraw from the classes, not someone who had difficulty with the material.
I think you may be operating with an idiosyncratic definition of "retreat"
Denys Beecher @dbeecher.bsky.social⬠Yeah, this strikes me as someone who always meant what she ultimately retreats to, but overstated her case. She knew better. 3:50 PM · Mar 11, 2026
I mean, you could have actually read the thing that you were replying to. It was all of a sentence and a half long.
I was inspired. I had an old Time Team episode on in the background at the time. Excavation of a possible Anglo-Saxon royal site in Kent.
Yeah, this strikes me as someone who always meant what she ultimately retreats to, but overstated her case. She knew better.
How about addressing the historicity of several centuries of Anglo-Saxon kings, from the withdrawal of the Romans until Bede begins writing?
Well, you seem to be conveniently ignoring other things. You never got around to the dating of the Pauline epistles.
Firing transgender managers, I believe
"You don't really believe that Jesus was LITERALLY a real person..."
I have previously obtained some excellent guinea pig miniatures!
Which I committed to painting and sending to a friend, but which are still in my pile of shame. (Let's not talk about it)
Even if you're restricting yourself to extra-Biblical accounts Josephus is writing 60 years later, not 80!
Together with "it's 2025," this skeet really makes it seem like WildlifeGardner has difficulties with something as basic as the calendar. I'm not sure their opinion on anything else should hold any weight.
This bizarre epistemology would also deny the existence of someone like Γthelberht of Kent.
"Can you believe these boyars?!"
So, quick question, friend. What is the traditionally accepted dating of the Pauline epistles?
Yeah, that's what I think is weird. They're not super luxury shoes. These guys could all afford to at least replace them with properly fitting versions if they wanted to
Twitter screenshot of my account from Sept 14, 2021 @ 9:50 am. "H.L Mencken disagreed, so I'll count myself in better company than whiny prescriptivists" followed by a screenshot of a chapter title by Mencken which spells restauranteur in a non-traditional way, followed by an explanation that he's not writing in French, he's writing in American.
There was once a Twitter account, not even a bot, a real person, which was dedicated to complaining about the spelling of restauranteur. His side has now been deleted, but it became a whole long thread with other people jumping in.
