Even before AI became a problem, Myrient's $ has been in the red for a while, largely due to users taking the site's free library for granted.

I believe if we REALLY want to save our videogame history, we need a serious fundraiser to cover far beyond the cost the archive's owner payed before. (2/3)

Sorry to go on about Myrient again, but I'm seeing download mirrors being setup and a general "grab what you can" mentallity in response to library of game files/historia closing at the end of the month, and less calls to donate, even just a little, more often. (1/3)

yeah mostly this is about the whole myrient situation and i know not everyone has the ability to actively do shit or contribute in some sort of way, but holy shit despair doesn't get us anywhere

By all means download what you can, we got a whole month to do it, but if we all make it a habit of donating to Myrient now, even if it is just a little bit of spare cash, it might be enough to save the archive of video game history.

In light of the news of Myrient, the largest game file preservation site on the internet, announcing it's closure on March 31st, I'm making it my duty to donate to it weekly from here on out, and I suggest alot more folks, who've likely taken it's free content for granted, do the same.

In all seriousness, I really don't want to leave discord, as it's the one social app I actually feel comfy with using 90% of the time, and I don't want to uproot everything, including the connections with friends I've made over the past 10 years.

That's why I'm choosing to stay and fight for it.

While Discord has backed off from using PersonA, they're looking for another vendor to carry their global age verification rollout. I've already shot out another feedback request/email telling them to BACK ALL THE WAY OFF from this.

NetChoice, a trade association of online businesses, have consistantly not only argued against AV laws, but have also gotten them blocked/repealed in states like AK, OH & most recently Loisianna!

So despite insistance that AV's normalization is inevitable, these laws/policies are not invincible.

We absolutely have to make noise and push back against not just this decision by @discord.com, but AV laws/policies in general.

Because it's becoming clear by now that these laws/policies are not going away without a fight.

And it's a fight we absolutely can (and must) win!

I'm sorry, but I find it really hard to believe these AV laws/policies being forced on the public have anything to do with child safety, when platforms like twitter/roblox are allowed to prey on kids, especially girls, with absolute impunity.

This is not about child safety, it's about control.

I'm gonna "wait and see" if they'll U-turn on this due to backlash, but I'm also not gonna sit around and do nothing either.

@discord.com, you better listen and reconsider this descision.

Secondly though, I'm pretty sure Dana Terrace would've said something by now, especially if she found out KOG was never going to be greenlit.

GLITCH have made nothing but good choices so far, so I trust they won't let Dana or any of us looking forward to more KOG down.

First of all, GLITCH now has multiple 2D/3D animation divisions to work with, thanks to the amount of money they've made off TADC alone.

If they didn't have the resources for all that, then they wouldn't have put money toward Lackadaisy either.

I'm seeing lots of worry about GLITCH taking on too many shows, but more importantly, people worried that the announcement of Gameoverse might mean that Knights of Guinevere didn't sell enough merch to warrent a full series.

2026 marks the 20th anniversary of Super Freaks, with the first (actual) game releasing June 4th, 2006.
The crew and I have a lot of stuff planned for this year, starting about late January.
