📢New PhD paper out!

Science communication & education are one of my priorities, which is why, a few years ago, I accepted the challenge to develop a one-year scientific project with local high school students.

What started as a side project has now turned into a paper!

Using whole genomes, we detected introgression from three species - L. granatensis, L. timidus, and L. europaeus - into the broom hare. Some of it was likely layered across past hybridization events!

These are the genomic echoes of hares' Pleistocene history.

Multiple genomic ancestries in the broom hare mark the complex biogeographic history of hares in the Iberian Peninsula Abstract. Pleistocene climatic fluctuations have often driven range shifts and hybridization among related species, leaving present-day genomic footprints.
