I grew up pre-potter, there are so many brilliant books out there (even with brooms & british accents) & countless others since. It's so lazy to fall back on a singular series of mid books & keep handing them to the next generations because they were well marketed decades ago.
Heck even The Worst Witch series is right there. Us pre-potter kids did just fine on those before graduating to Pratchett.
100% this. We can give our kids great books, better written book, even better British books with brooms.
Good morning everyone the UK supreme court just revoked my rights in a court case funded by Rowling so if any of you still want to defend her or continue supporting the IPs that empower her then genuinely go fuck yourself
Fuck JK Rowling and Fuck the UK Supreme Court
You don't need to be out of the house every day. You don't need to attend groups every day. Make sure you listen to your child's rythyms or you'll all burn out.
Congratulations! What great news, all Peanut Jones fans here and we can't wait to read it!

But they just said no. They said it's our choice if we want to wear masks. They've not risk assessed at all. It's horribly exclusionary but then, I've never found the home ed community very welcoming to CV. Near me they're a lot more anti vaxx than anything else.
I actually said "I'd love to see the use of respirators being promoted for events like this, in the same way you've asked everyone to bring hand sanitiser " I think that makes them look weirder than me. Imagine thinking hand sanitiser is going to do anything at all ๐คฆโโ๏ธ๐
There's a long list of rules for this rally, including everyone bringing & using hand sanitiser. But when I asked them to promote the use of respirators I was shut down and told that was a me problem. 2/3
Welcome to home ed! โบ๏ธ
And don't get me started on the amount of free stuff available for World Book Day! #frugalmum #homeedder #budget
Oh! And parliament will post you a whole pack for parliament week, including a certificate and badge for taking part!
Yes to all this! Plus using things like RSPB, nspcc, national trust, wwf who all have free resources online that you can build topics around! Some are even physical packs they send in the post
If you're dipping into vikings Jorvik has a virtual home ed day come up. They're always lots of fun yat.digitickets.co.uk/category/61179
100% might watch this again today. In constant rotation, as it should be.
This was absolutely a weekly watch in my teens. Still watch it as often as possible.
A common answer to a request in my house is " can't, sorry, I have to help Wayne with his bogo pogo" ๐คฃ
