when i lived in the uk (pre-transition) i encountered casually and ignorantly transphobic viewpoints now and again but the one place i heard hard-core transphobia from was a couple of die-hard labour supporters. they presented themselves rhetorically as left-wing yet were huge fans of liz kendall

yeah. i think men do it for different motives - all too often it is just about dominance or about thinking they're owed something. but once now and again you get something that seems like a spontaneous and unselfconscious response to beauty, with zero expectations in return and *that* can be nice
