Pleasant morning, a bit windy but plenty of sun and quite warm in the sheltered spots. Pics are Long Tailed Tit, Grey Squirrel and Chaffinch at Cowpen Bewley Woodland, and Ruddy Shelduck with 2 Egyptian Geese at the sub station pools Seals Sand Rd.

Spot of Wombling on the Tees today downstream of Preston Park. Easily managed to fill 3 large bags with mainly plastic bottles 🍼 On a brighter note, I spotted my 1st Coltsfoot 🌼 of the year πŸ˜€

Stella conditions this am for a paddle on the Tees - Preston Park to Leven & rtn. Spotted 8 Roe Deer, 4 Buzzards, 2 Kingfishers & loads of Butterbur 🌾....also plenty of Giant Hogweed is starting to sprout ☠️ Plenty of sun 🌞 but the water temperature🌑is still only 8 Deg C πŸ₯Ά

Spotted my 1st Butterbur of the year on the Tees this am....Also a few Giant Hogweed getting going ☠️ but great to be out in double-digit temperatures 🌑. Also saw Little Grebe, Great Spotted Woodpecker, Sparrowhawk and Kingfisher. Launched from Preston Park.

Spotted a few plants starting to get going this am while walking along the river Tees from Preston Park to Bowesfield - Primrose almost in flower, Lords and Ladies(?), plus wild garlic which is a great accompaniment to sausage sandwiches πŸ₯ͺ πŸ˜‹

Signs of early sun had me heading out for one of my favourite paddles πŸ„β€β™‚οΈ on the River Tees - Newsham Grange to Preston Park, 8mls.
The start is very close to the "Touchstone" sculpture.
Also had to undertake a spot of Wombling for abandoned camping gear 🀬
