My friend took me to see Florence + the Machine a few weeks ago & from the moment that concert ended, I've had horrific mental health stuff & bad luck. After 3 days, I joked that I may have been cursed at that concert.
After weeks of it getting even worse, a curse the only sensible explanation.
The camera stuff was just weird but wasn't the main problem. It set me back a few days, but the fact the video idea took me over a week and a half to formulate and it's shit and only 15 minutes long was more of why my heart hurts. The camera technical difficulties just compounded the issue
I never thought money could buy confidence but I'm starting to think I was mistaken
I always find myself in awe of the confidence & accomplishments of many people a decade younger than me.
Then, when I look them up, 80% of the time, they come from mind-blowing privileged backgrounds (one I just looked up went to a 60K pa school)
Money isn't everything but DAMN, it must help
Oh absolutely! Not everyone who attends there chooses to adopt the lesson, but there are some who embrace a warmth sense of smugness when looking down on those who never attended
Interaction from my bookselling days at a bookshop which offers alumni discount for select unis
Him: Do you accept alumni discount up here?
Me: We do
Him: Which alumni card should I give you? My Oxford alumni card, or my Cambridge alumni card?
Me: Whichever one gives you the tingly feeling you want
The British Museum has removed the word Palestine from displays about the ancient Middle East following βconcernsβ by a UK-based Israeli advocacy group.

That's what we thought originally but we have searched EVERYWHERE. But if we find it in a few days it'll be hilarious because I've already bought a new pair haha
Screenshot of Tommy Ten Names, claiming he's afraid and fleeing the UK.
Just checking, it's now ok to flee your homeland, because you're afraid for your safety, and seek refuge in another Country?
Glad we've cleared that up. Let's hear no more about immigration and refugees then.
After three days of looking extensively, I've had to come to the conclusion that I someone accidentally recycled my slipper in the waste-paper recycling box.
How I didn't notice that it came off my foot as I stomped down the paper, nor notice I was one-shoed for the rest of the day, I have no idea
The study points to using libraries and visiting museums as bringing these enormous brain health benefits ... who would have thought? Well, librarians and museum folk for a start ... www.theguardian.com/society/2026...
Thomas Hubbard showing up in the files? Why, who could have predicted this, short of every classicist in existence?
I was today years old when I discovered the shocking news there is currently only TWO Gruffalo books. I thought there would have been 15 or so... www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...
She has doubled in side since December when this photo was taken, but I can't help but share how darn adorable baby Sappho is
I thought it would be fun at the gym this morning to put on some boxing gloves from the selection and have a go at the punch bag.
NEVER put your hands in communal boxing gloves. My hand stank even after three washes.
Thankfully, I only ever bought my Noam Chomsky books second hand
Honestly, it just felt really unprofessional and immature. Surely the sign of a good therapist if your clients not needing you all the time? I felt like it was a sign for me that someone that sensitive shouldn't be teaching people emotional intelligence.
I took a break from therapy for a few months, and when I reached back out to start back up, my therapist ignored my emails.
It was really hurtful that my therapist of over two years ghosted me and took offence because I needed a break.
But now I'm grateful, because my new therapist is AWESOME.
If I were Bill Clinton, I'd be wondering if I could exploit the overzealous American legal system and sue the government for an "unfair and unjustified" impeachment for my blow-job affair scandal in light of what they're allowing Trump to get away with
I'm curious about scholars on here: what is your preferred note taking system?
People on social media primarily use Notion, but I've had bad experiences with it. I was wondering if Notion was the go-to note-taking method across humanities academia in general, or if people use other things?
None of my family went to uni, but none of them begrudged their tax money going towards them.
I don't want children (I don't even like them). But you can take all my tax money for free school meals, extracurricular activities, and school libraries. Nor do I drive: again, take my taxes for roads.

"I don't believe in Phrenology, but I practice Phrenology."
Oh dear, have some people only just realised, in the year 2026, that the second amendment is a lie?
The only people who have ever benefitted from it are the most rich and powerful. But it took how many school children dying for people to question the government's intentions?
Media: "Awww how sweet! An accident which saw a smiling horse stitched into a sad one for Chinese New Year's has become viral and popular with the youth of China because they resonated with it!"
Me:... have we asked them why that may be and see if they're OK?

As someone who sits crossed legged most of the time as her feet don't touch the floor (I know it's not good for my knees, it's just comfy, ok?), upgrading from a foot rest to a whole ass foot stall/pouffe under my desk is life changing
Met up for first bookclub of the year.
"Cinzia, how was your Christmas period?"
"Last month, I popped a record four stress balls."
The fact that an American man screamed at me on social media for two days calling ME stupid (because I said I'm not from a colonial British background as he was accusing me of, as all my family is Irish) because I "didn't know" that Ireland "was Britain and part of the UK" just...says it all, really
I have no idea. I just went onto chatGPT as it was. I'm not a user of it so I'm not sure if you have to make an account for a newer version?
