Got great feedback on beta reads but before the final final revisions I am taking another break from the horror WIP to reset my brain and continue on the romance WIP.
Why do I have the feeling people are going into my book expecting something like ACOTAR and will be a little disappointed when it is actually more like a gender swapped The Northman.

BUT THEN AGAIN So does a comma apparently. Like, I'm sorry telling me a comma "means a short pause" gives me nothing because it seems I pause at the wrong times of sentences. Maybe it's my type of 'tism, I dunno.
I know, I know, TONS of authors use it, it just... looks weird to me. Like it's too long and just too much.
I don't mind reading it, but when I write it, it feels off.
I admit, I only use an em dash very rarely and I write/edit mostly on my netbook.
Well, I have been using a hyphen to keep its place until now because I was having a BITCH of a time getting Word to give me the damn em dash. Because netbooks don't have the numeric keyboard. I figured it out though.
