Christmas book post! Canβt wait to read HUMAN REMAINS by @jocallaghankat.bsky.social, loved the first two in this series.
It is time! Wrapping my presents in front of the fire and THIS, as I do every year.
I second this, being shortlisted in the Lucy Cavendish prize in 2016 was such a huge part of my journey to publication.
I used to post this on the other place at Christmas, so Iβll continue the tradition here - if youβve never listened to Joy by @traceythorn.bsky.social this is why you should: www.lauramarshall.co.uk/blog/joy
Haha! Iβve just bought our first ones but will try to hold out til the 1st.
Are you writing a childrenβs book? Last few days to enter this brilliant prize.
I have fully turned into my mum. Going to the cinema with my sonβs girlfriend (weβre the only ones who want to see Wicked) and I am taking HOMEMADE SANDWICHES.
Happy birthday, Caz!
Watched the first ep last night, loved it.
Picture of Curae prize anthology 2023 published by Renard Press in aid of carersβ charities
On the 1st of January, the #Curae prize for writer-carers opens for a second time. The demise of twitter is making it harder to get the word out, so do share! thecuraeprize.uk There are around 7 million unpaid carers in the UK alone & Curae shines a light on the role & much more. #carers #writing
More exciting book post! Thanks @nikkismithauthor.bsky.social - #TheyHadItComing looks like the perfect sun-kissed antidote to this awful weather
Ooh Iβve been waiting for this! Cannot wait to get stuck into #CatFight by @kitconwayauthor.bsky.social
Thanks, will check it out!
Thank you! Will check those out.
Thank you! Going to check if he's read the tree one as looks just the ticket.
Ooh I may have bought him a Robert McFarlane one before, I'll have to check. Will have a look at the other one too.
Thank you - sounds up his street.
Thanks! Will take a look.
Having just bought a book for an Xmas present from a recommendation on here, whatβs a good literary, natural world-type non-fic book that I can get for my dad? Iβve bought him the mushroom one by Merlin Sheldrake and Crow Country by Mark Cocker in the past.
Thank you! Had not heard of this and now bought it as a Christmas present. Makes me realise how useless the other place had become for these kinds of reccs.
Have been agonising about what to say in my first post (the pressure!) but what better way to dive in than sharing some book love? I love Nikkiβs books and canβt wait to read this one - great for holidays but also for reading by the fire and dreaming of sunnier climes!
Ah I had some happy times there
I used to live in the flat behind that bus! (I think - Malden Rd?)
No worries Iβm the same π
Ooh how was it? I havenβt used my voucher yet.
