Close up of a sleeping husky mix dog with her snout buried in a green blanket.

A pen and ink line drawing of a beetle larvae and a mandarin orange segment with a brass fountain pen
Today's coffee-break sketch. I was doodling a Mandarin orange segment and was struck by how similar the forms are to beetle larvae! As usual, drawn with a Traveler's Co. fountain pen with Platinum sepia and carbon ink on a Lochby pocket notebook. #PenAndInk #drawing #sketch #traditionalArt

A cardboard bankers box loaded with white-lidded glass jars and black-capped vials containing fluid preserved natural history specimens.
Current work goals: fixing issues of neglect in the invertebrate wet collection by sorting out dehydrated specimens to be stored safely in their present state, replacing deteriorated and poor-quality vessels, topping off or completely replacing ethanol, and adding thermal data labels to every jar.

After being in charge of organizing and unpacking all of it, the invertebrate wet collection is now my happy place.
