It would also be similar to a major cement works in Derbyshire and a gas-fired power station in Bedfordshire. The UK emits about 364 million tonnes of carbon dioxide a year. The figures were published by North Lincolnshire council. A surge in plans for data centres has led MPs to call for a national conversation about their environmental impact. The Times revealed that about 140 data centres have asked regulators for a connection to the national electricity grid. Last year we went to Memphis to provide the evidence that the gas turbines being used by xAI were not some of the cleanest in the world as were being claimed. Good to see this headline getting it right referring to "dirty xAI methane gas turbines."

US oil and gas is mostly from fracked production aka "unconventional." Look at how the IEA estimates methane emissions for unconventional vs. conventional.
For oil production they estimate methane venting is twice as high. For gas its higher, just not twice as high.
Fracking waste has a mix of chemicals from fracking fluid + others leached from underground.
Arsenic, lead, cancer-causing benzenes, radioactive radium can all be present.
It's being dumped in Pennsylvania landfills.
