America Depends Less on Oil Than Ever
“The oil and gas industry’s financial strategy has been ‘pray for war,’ because those are the conditions under which they make money,” said one an oil industry financial analyst. “They have to have a big price spike every few years literally to make ends meet.”

Watch: Plug In America's Joel Levin joined us to discuss the EV transition. He argued that EV sales are rising globally and having divergent vehicle technologies for the U.S. and the rest of the world is unsustainable, and EVs will be the winning technology. www.laclimatereality.org/2026-03-03-c...

Contributor: In wildfire country, EVs aren’t a grid problem — they’re a power solution
California needs a smarter, more flexible power grid — and EVs are actually one of the most powerful tools we have to strengthen it.
#EVs are a critical grid reliability and electricity affordability solution. New @latimes.com opinion piece calls for #EV investments to deliver benefits. #CALeg, @assemblydems.bsky.social, @casendems.bsky.social, use the budget to invest in EV car and truck incentives! #InvestInCleanAir

There’s a BIG UPDATE to the progress of plug-in solar across the U.S. 🙌 Inspired by Utah’s law, 23 are now proposing policies to make affordable, accessible solar available for all. Take a look if your state is on the list ⬇️

A new climate movement takes shape
These fossil fuel protests started in Los Angeles and have spread across the country.
On Tuesday, climate activists rallied at 10 stadiums across the U.S., from Los Angeles to St. Louis to Philadelphia.
It was the first national day of protest against fossil fuel sponsorships in American sports. I doubt it will be the last.

The most consequential decision SCAQMD has ever made was swayed by 20k AI generated comments. The full scope is not know at this time, but at least some of the AI comments were submitted without the knowledge of the people attributed. There were at least 100 of us in person in the room… (1/2)

Southern California air board rejected pollution rules after AI-generated flood of comments
SoCal’s pollution authority scrapped a plan to phase out gas-powered appliances after receiving more than 20,000 emails sent by an AI-powered platform called CiviClick.
The LA Times just published an exposé showing that opponents of South Coast AQMD's proposed zero-emission appliance rules generated thousands of fake comments using AI. Based on these fake emails, the Board voted down the rules last year. They need to reconsider it! www.latimes.com/environment/...

Paris street filled with people on bikes
Paris “school street” with kids and greening. No cars.
It’s common sense to proactively address/mitigate climate change.
It’s common sense to reduce pollution, emissions and particulates in cities.
It’s common sense to proactively cool cities, quiet cities, clean cities.
It’s common sense to move more people in less space and with lower public costs.

Under the climate-denying Trump regime, the Environmental Protection Agency plans to stop considering health impacts when setting pollution limits and calculate only the cost to businesses.
This is what literally choosing profit over people (and planet) looks like.

I was right. The L.A. fires changed nothing
A year after Altadena and Pacific Palisades burned, "climate change" has exited the chat.
One of the best stories written in the wake of last year's fires was by @sammyroth.bsky.social, titled: “Los Angeles is a climate disaster. The fires will change nothing.”
Glad to see him follow up with this very correct assessment that absolutely nothing has changed
