I am really eager to hear her statement. She has said she thought about leaving in January, then endorsed Lewis for party leader like a week ago. What changed?

I've made 7 different rye breads so far this year, and Dakota Norwegian Rye is by far the winner. If you can get rye meal and the flours needed near you, really give it a try. www.thefreshloaf.com/node/49315/d...
“”Trust me, we are on our own. This regime doesn’t care about us so why would I make a plea to a foreign power to care for us? And tell those saying we asked for this. No! We didn’t ask for the death of our people who were getting killed by the regime anyway.””
March 8, 2026 - Tehran at sunrise today. But the sun is hidden behind a sky filled with smoke. After a night of intensive strikes on oil facilities, thick black clouds now hang over the city, turning morning into something that feels like night.

I really dislike when this word is applied to children who've died due to violence or conflict of any sort.
Three in one week. At this point, shootings at synagogues and Jewish schools is becoming a statistically significant portion of Canadian gun crime. (Of which there is very little).
Being Canadian means you know people who know people, who are in a war zone. So you check in, you tell them, you'll keep their families in your prayers/thoughts. You tell them you're grateful they are here where it's safe and that you know them.

I also just really think there's a lot more to talk about linking Iran, Venezuela, how China's energy imports are being throttled and this all works for Trump. Like, who is profiting from this? He's a very greedy man, even more than he is racist.
Some of this "... for Israel" stuff feels like causation v. correlation. Like, maybe it's the unfortunate fact that the interests of Israel's racist, authoritarian regime and America's racist, authoritarian regimes happen to coincide?
Images posted to Alpha Athletika’s Telegram channel show its members posing for propaganda pictures in the gym, with huge flags unfurled and Nazi imagery on at least one member’s workout clothes.

“The case against these camps would almost be laughably weak — and entirely against the spirit of Canadian multiculturalism — if the potential consequences weren’t so serious... The charge, essentially, is “being Jewish in Canada.”

Pierre Poilievre: “This is insane and Orwellian. Governments and kangaroo courts now chill freedom of expression instead of fighting crime, censoring people who dare to speak their minds. Just ask the B.C. school board trustee who got slapped with a $750,000 fine for saying there are two genders. Enough is enough. We must defend the truth and free speech against these mad censors. I had a cousin with Tourette's and I saw how uncomfortable social situations were for him when he couldn't control his symptoms. I really feel for that man.
But... there are too many white people trying too hard to make it OK, and I just don't trust where those people wanna go with it.

Husband: Not waking up at 5 AM, but I might set the alarm early enough to catch the 3rd period.
Me: I will not be waking up early on a Sunday to watch a hockey game unless Scott Hunter is playing.

The Tumbler Ridge shooter had used OpenAI to discuss scenarios involving gun violence.
It was bad enough to get flagged and reviewed by employees, who warned the company & suggested alerting law enforcement.
The company said No.
This tragedy could have been prevented.
Gut wrenching.
It is so lazy when there are no Jews or even a pizza knish to be heard of, but the author needs a last name for a doctor, lawyer or accountant and suddenly Ira Gorfinkle is the main character’s dead father’s accountant in a small Utah mountain town… It’s just such a lazy trope and it’s everywhere.
Some good considerations and advice here. My own: be pragmatic with aid dollars. Established channels are efficient and effective and have the details ironed out.

Gong Hay Fat Choy/Ramadan Mubarak/ et bon Mardi Gras. It’s also Rosh Chodesh for the month of Adar and if you followed a traditional Anishinaabe calendar based on the moon* I think we’re in Maakwa Giizis (Bear Moon) today. (Most Anishinabe calendars have been adapted to match 12 Gregorian months).

Marcos met his end not at the hands of a superior military force but a society that stopped obeying him. By the simple act of noncompliance, everyday resisters had consigned his regime to ashes.
