So let me get this straight: masks are bad and un-American if worn to fight a pandemic, but good if worn by people claiming to be government agents when they kidnap people off the street
Masking should be mandatory in all healthcare settings. Hospitals and doctor’s offices are where most sick people congregate. It’s also the most likely place for more high risk people to be. You shouldn’t have to risk getting sicker or more disabled while trying to get treatment.
Remember when the pandemic first hit and everything was remote? Work, education, healthcare. Disabled people had been begging for those things to be remote for over a decade until non-disabled people needed them. Two years after, they got rid of it. They can accommodate, they just don’t want to.
If you’re a leftist, you need to be discussing disability rights because it’s one of the most pressing issues of our time. People are becoming more and more disabled in a society that has been allowing high risk people to die. Eugenics is happening RIGHT NOW!!
You can’t fight fascism without disability justice. Fascism creates more disability, which then sees us as replaceable and our deaths as excusable. You can’t fight for humanity without fighting for disabled people.

When many people state that the lockdowns caused the deepest depression they’ve ever experienced, just a reminder that many disabled people are still in lockdown, five years later. Isolation is a form of torture. I want to live in a world where disabled people are wanted in society.
