Honestly I’m leaning toward idiot on this one. Would be absolutely insane if he knew the ramifications of what he was saying.

The sad thing is it’s not even like they have failed in only one direction. They seem to be ignoring leftist positions voters hold but also somehow moderate ones. Just a whole party org totally committed to changing nothing from the Biden era and winning (barely) by default.

The world’s foremost cautionary tale on the importance of taking mental decline after stroke seriously.

Wasn’t he from WV? Feels a bit carpetbaggy

TX I think depends largely on who wins the cesspool primary. Florida should flip but their state Dem part is always a mess so I have no faith they will perform.

I think in this environment Maine and NC are givens. Of AK, FL, IA, OH, and TX, I think they get 1-2

Sure, but the laws of gravity didn’t change in 20 years. He’s historically unpopular and will lose badly this fall (not as badly as he should due to the sorting you’re describing, but bad enough to potentially flip any of AK, TX, OH, FL, IA.)

Whenever you see the simplest rubes on the right like Clay Travis parroting your talking points, you know it’s all bullshit lol

Bluesky suffers from the β€œgo touch grass” problem as much as any website.

I mean, the president is currently sitting at GW Bush in 2006 levels of unpopularity, so nothing is off the table right now.

I love that he forces evangelicals to confront the fact that their obsession with abortion and banning gays comes at the cost of their having lost touch with the Gospel of Matthew: the actual words of Jesus.

You may be right. We shall see.

I mean, one would think the most prominent Jewish senator telling the world the guy isn’t a Nazi would mean something, but the Bluesky hive mind had other thoughts I guess πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ

Oh yeah, music choice in the Stryker was a whole other point of contention.

Idk I’m fine with all these chodes moving to a new manmade island somewhere and staying out of everyone else’s hair for a while.

If they stayed in IN branch, most likely (although in that case, hard to imagine they don’t give it another go after CCC). I’ve known a couple guys from my basic course class who made good careers after Command by transferring to other branches like Strategist or FAO.

This is basically where I’m at, with the caveat that it’s not my place to tell Mainers who to choose. He seems to be leading so they must like what he has to say/feel comfortable with him. For better or worse, the people will decide, as they always do πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ

He will get as many flags as the voters of Maine will allow. As I said, when I visited at Xmas (after all of these flags had come out) his support was still palpably high. I would venture to guess he wins this primary by 15+ points. For one reason or another, they like his message.

07.03.2026 14:17 πŸ‘ 0 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 3 πŸ“Œ 0

I don’t recall saying that.

07.03.2026 14:05 πŸ‘ 0 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 2 πŸ“Œ 0

As I’ve said elsewhere, the second point I agree with. The lack of judgment in not thinking to have it covered up in the decade+ he had it on his body…yeah, that’s a red flag.

In the age of Trump, is anything really β€œdisqualifying” anymore? He’s not my favorite but senators have def done worse.

If he walked in and ordered a swastika tattoo, absolutely. What I’m saying is this β€œtotem” skull is not widely known to be a unique design (despite everyone on Bluesky pretending it is). It looks like any other skull tattoo, and half the guys in the infantry had a skull/infidel/something else stupid

Meh. I get some of the appeal but he's not exactly my cup of tea. Although I don't vote in Maine so it doesn't matter in the slightest what I think.

07.03.2026 00:24 πŸ‘ 0 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 0 πŸ“Œ 0

I agree the fact that he didn’t think to have it removed for decades is concerning.

06.03.2026 22:58 πŸ‘ 0 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 3 πŸ“Œ 0

I don’t know man, my BN had a lot of guys with skull tattoos and I honestly couldn’t tell you which ones were secret hate symbols and which were just run of the mill skulls. Punisher skulls were incredibly popular at that time (and was even a sister unit’s unofficial insignia).

06.03.2026 22:20 πŸ‘ 0 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 11 πŸ“Œ 5

That is a more concerning issue, yes. Total lack of judgment.

06.03.2026 22:05 πŸ‘ 0 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 1 πŸ“Œ 0

This in my opinion is a far better question to ask. Even if the answer is β€œI didn’t really think about it”…yeah that’s still poor judgment.

06.03.2026 19:42 πŸ‘ 1 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 3 πŸ“Œ 0

I learned about it, sure, but you generally don’t pay attention to the specific uniforms a guy wears because it’s not critical to the story.

06.03.2026 00:35 πŸ‘ 0 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 1 πŸ“Œ 0

Idk to me, history buff refers more to what generals and units fought at Market Garden or Okinawa, not what insignias were on the German uniforms. But to each his own.

06.03.2026 00:19 πŸ‘ 1 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 1 πŸ“Œ 0

I mean, I’m a history buff and I didn’t know what it was until this story broke. I think you overestimate how many people are this deep into it.

Also he pretty famously had it covered up during the campaign.
