Spanish PM Pedro Sánchez:

You may have heard that Spain is alone. They’re the same people who said that when we recognized the State of Palestine, and then others followed.

We are not alone — we are the first. Those who will end up alone are the ones defending the indefensible.

The U.S. Is Exacerbating Haiti’s Gender Violence Crisis - FPIF Sexual and reproductive rights are not optional — even or especially when countries experience systemic collapse.

Haiti’s humanitarian crisis is a sexual and reproductive health emergency for Haitian women and girls. Emergency contraception, post-rape care, maternal health services, HIV prevention, and access to safe, legal abortion all need to be core components of humanitarian response.

Walz demands DHS stop detaining Minnesota children In a letter to Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem, Walz demanded details about how many Minnesota kids are in detention facilities.

They’re taking children from Minnesota and locking them up like criminals in detention camps in Texas.

For the love of God, send our kids home and bring an end to this nightmare.

We can build walls or we can be more ambitious — and build something better, stronger, and more just.

Mark Carney just shook up the world His speech in Davos might be the most important one ever delivered by a Canadian prime minister. Its consequences will determine his place in history — and ours.

For all of its great prime ministers, #Canada has never had one who was known for their ability to deliver stirring speeches, much less ones with global import and impact. In a remarkable 16-minute-long speech delivered

"We know the old order is not coming back. We shouldn't mourn it. Nostalgia is not a strategy. But we believe that from the fracture we can build something bigger, better, stronger, more just. This is the task of the middle powers," says PM Mark Carney in Davos speech.

Photo by Pierre Lavie. Yes this is me. And I threw my Leica. It landed on the bass plate with hardly a scratch. Another Photographer grabbed it along with my phone and I was able to track him later. I was held face down tear gas deployed right in front of me and pepper sprayed directly into the eye.

I know this sounds obvious, but this means 3 out of 4 Albertans do not.

At this juncture I’d like to point out:
* we’re on the brink of a golden age of medical healing
* there’s enough money in the world to solve every problem in the world
* a united approach could stop the climate crisis
But a small group of sociopaths seeking personal power are going to throw it away.
