Just read this excellent, research-led doc on reading in Secondary. Clear, practical, rooted in the SVoR, vocab, background know. & disciplinary literacy. Lovely to see how much it aligns with what we champion in Early Years & Primary. Real sense of continuity. Useful for CPD & cross-phase work! πŸ‘

My PhD student @nataliakika.bsky.social is still looking to recruit parents of teens aged 12-18 years to take part in a 1-hour online interview about looking for mental health information online. These findings will inform intervention development, so we need to close recruitment asap! πŸ™Œ

Programme and resources – Love to Read

Absolutely! Although choosing is hard and children need support to learn what they enjoy reading - this is why librarians are so valuable- and the Love to Read programme has good strategies for teachers to help children choose: blogs.ed.ac.uk/lovetoread/p...
