Ok, a draw is a fair result, and team and fans were up for it, but I must have looked at the Enzo penalty farce over a dozen times. And try as hard as I might, it is, was and always will be a penalty. What is the point of VAR if it backs such a ridiculous decision by the referee? #Sunlun

The team is having an uncomfortable run at the moment, not helped by the bigots who parade their racism in the stands. We knew form on the pitch would fluctuate, but that’s why we need to get behind the team again, and show what being Sunderland is all about. We are Sunlun, win or lose. #SAFC

That’s what’s really concerning. The club is built on togetherness, some, if not all, of these players must feel absolute disgust. You couldn’t blame some of them if they decided that this is not for them in the long-term. You’re absolutely right to call them ‘worms’.

It’s Monday morning, and far from calming down after the appalling abuse of Romaine yesterday, I find myself still raging about it. These scum who’ve violated this lovely lad are beyond evil. They have no place whatsoever in a modern society. They need to crawl back under their rock. #SAFC

Romaine Mundle looked really upset at full-time, no doubt agonising over the chance he missed. I thought his contribution when he came on was excellent, and the missed chance just needs chalking up to experience. He’s a proper premier league player in the making. #SAFC

Great news that Granit Xhaka is fit again, his leadership is off-the-scale. Any team would miss a player of his quality. A blow though to lose Reinildo. One of the best full backs around, but a great opportunity now for Dennis Cirkin. Just hope we get news soon of a long term contract for him. #SAFC

The story of our season in that respect. Standard of commentating is terrible, almost as if we’re premier league imposters. It seems to be the other way round where the mags are concerned.

Shocked to hear about Kristjaan Speakman’s departure. He’s done a phenomenal job. Is it a case that the club’s continued evolution and progress has seen Florent Ghisolfi effectively move into the space that Speakman was occupying? #SAFC

Really disappointed to see Dan Neil leave. Let’s remember we are where we are because of him. He rejected leaving when the Chuckle Brothers were asset stripping the academy. He chose to stay and fight. A club legend. #SAFC

So sad things haven’t worked out for Dan. Without his contributions, we wouldn’t be where we are now. Deserves the gratitude of all proper fans.

Looking at social media, I wasn’t sure if there had been a massive earthquake, a really serious volcanic eruption, or the biggest most destructive storm this century.
