I spent this week at the Hi-Res In The Desert: High-Resolution Spectroscopy for Exoplanet Atmospheres Workshop at Arizona State University. I presented a poster on my research I did this summer at Michigan State University on a young exoplanet with Gemini-S/IGRINS observations.

This! Here's a slide pulled from my class lecture notes this semester. Comets have two clear tails - one from dust and one from ions. They point in different directions because one feels the solar wind while the other feels radiation pressure.

So excited that our paper is finally out! We analyzed archival TESS observations of RZ Psc and detected 24 transiting exocomets. And, Adalyn is an amazing undergrad applying for grad school this year!

Plot os radius of exocomet versus cumulative number count - the RZ Psc shows a distinct change in slope at 2.5km, whilst the Beta Pic distribution from des Etangs shows a single straight power law.

This summer I have been working with Prof @afeinstein20.bsky.social at MSU, I presented my research via a poster at the Mid-SURE undergraduate symposium. I have loved Michigan’s β€œhiking” and lakes and the entire research group - pictured here.

I successfully defended my undergraduate honors thesis and was awarded the degree designation Magna cum laude in Astronomy–Astrophysics. I’m incredibly grateful to my advisors, Dr. Adam Kowalski and Dr. Adina Feinstein, for their exceptional mentorship and support.
