Oh, I didn't mind their look at all. It took an episode or two to get used to because it was so different from how they looked in the TNG era, but I had no problem with it once I made that mental adjustment.
It's bad enough that their beliefs are so reprehensible. Seeing them struggle to even articulate what those beliefs are on a basic level is infuriating. They're just such dumb, hateful dipshits.
They aren't my favorite Klingons, but I didn't hate them. I tend to prefer it when the Klingons are presented in a way that I'm not expected to take them totally seriously. I wish the Disco Klingons had leaned into their extra goofiness more.
I also wondered why they wrote a season about a war, then hardly ever showed the war. Like, we get a stronger impression of what the war was like from one episode of Strange New Worlds than from the entire first season of Disco.
I'm mostly with you. I didn't hate season one of Disco, but it wound up being the weakest season, and it was very uneven and frustrating. I had no problem with the Klingons, but I really lost patience with the extended mirror universe visit, too.
Not that it would make a big difference for most of them if they did watch the shows anyway, because their basic comprehension skills are for shit, too.
Exactly. None of them actually watch any of the shows. They see trailers, and promotional materials, and out of context clips, and read clickbait articles, and look for things to get mad about.

I think it's another idea with potential that would have been better if Voyager overall had been better. Tom gets that job after Kes leaves because he had received training as a combat medic once upon a time. It could have spoken to their limited resources, their need to improvise, etc.
