Filled up the car last night. Tesla Model 3 LR (369 mi range). Battery takes 70 kWh when down to below 10%
We pay 8.79 cents/kWh from our local public utility
So the cost to fill up my car in the convenience of my garage is (70 x 0.0879) = $6.15
Don't know how we are going to survive.
Imagine a world where, instead of financing fossil fuels and deforestation, banks invest in climate-positive solutions, such as sustainable agriculture, electric vehicle networks, and renewable energy initiatives.
Check out these five fossil-free banking services doing just that and switch today!
Many untold thousands of Cree people have worked on southern Alberta’s farms in the last half century... By the 1990s Cree workers made up 85 per cent of the labour force on sugar beet farms.

" #ElectroStates are the exact opposite of #PetroStates. Electrified economies powered by renewables rely less on territorial control & more on technology, grids, manufacturing capacity & finance. #EnergyTransition is therefore not just an emission strategy, but a peace strategy." #ClimateSky
BC Should End Costly Deals with Private Health Staffing Agencies. By @alonghurst.bsky.social @policyalternatives.ca #bcpoli thetyee.ca/Opinion/2026...
You can tell City Council to say no to sprawl by speaking at the upcoming public hearing on rezoning on March 23. To help you prepare, we are hosting a virtual training on March 19 at 7 p.m. Register today at aenweb.ca/civicrm/even...
You clean up your mess. Oil companies won’t.
Now, Alberta’s MAS could make taxpayers foot their $130B cleanup bill.
Enough. Demand a public inquiry into AB’s well cleanup crisis now.

Data centres are moving in. Communities should read the fine print By @simonenoch.bsky.social and Rachel Pettigrew @policyalternatives.ca troymedia.com/technology/d...
Absolutely the best thing doing the rounds just now. And the best critique of late capitalism you will ever see.
This is one of the biggest peeves I have with urban sprawl. If developers and homeowners in the neighbourhoods outside the Henday were forced to pay (either in home price or taxes) fair value for what costs the city absorbs downtown living would be much more attractive financially.
Tell your MP - Canadians don't want our money to support fossil fuel expansion. There can be no public dollars, no subsidies for #LNG #bcpoli #cdnpoli #cdnecon www.forourkids.ca/no_subsidies...
Note this IMPORTANT paragraph.
“Some urbanists claim [the 15-Minute City] manufactured controversy has ‘died down,’ but the truth is that in many ways, the disinformation achieved its goal.”
That’s NOT ok. With or without the brand, the concept of proximity is critical & common sense. Discuss it.
hey look! we won something
That was fast.
Sunlight travels 93 million miles to reach the earth, none of them through the Straight of Hormuz.
Great new piece by @billmckibben.bsky.social comparing fossil fuel inefficiency to solar efficiency.

Although I’ve been involved with homelessness policy for decades, I’m NOT an expert at it. Very few city planners are. @nerd4cities.bsky.social admits it’s out of his wheelhouse too, but I appreciate his data-driven approach here. Spoilers: rent rates are key & housing SAVES public money.
Comments?
Nathan Cullen has spent his career standing up for people and communities across Canada. He’s helped shape our movement and inspired a lot of us along the way.
I’m grateful to have Nathan’s support as we keep working to rebuild our party and win for people.
Enjoyed hanging out and canvassing with this guy for @waternotcoalab.bsky.social down in sunny Kensington #yyc outside the Plaza/Pages for a few hours this afternoon.

DHS claimed "an ICE agent had fired 'defensive shots' into Martinez's vehicle after Martinez 'intentionally ran over' another agent."
But body cam video now "shows that Martinez's vehicle, a blue Ford Fusion, was stationary or going at a very low rate of speed when he was fatally shot."
Convenience w/out a car
Housing w/out homelessness

These allegations of child rape are horrific. They back up the story of Jane Doe, another 13-year-old victim.
The American courts, police, politicians and media know that the President of the United States is an accused child rapist and abuser.
Horrifying.

Canada is the first non-European country to be granted membership in SAFE. This is unlocking new export markets abroad for producers across Canada’s defence industry and better equipping our military with the resources they need.
