Always read Tegan O'Neil.
My bookshelves of more tintin style books. Also my tarot cards
In my opinion, we would do better with this slightly larger format has a few advantages
1. Shift the narrative. Let our graphic novels be more of a coffee table book vibe
2. Still fits on bookshelves, so you can keep that vibe if you prefer
3. The pictures are bigger. Cannot overstate this
When a comic conventionβs ownership/management starts caring more about size & headcount over anything else, comics inevitably lose. The industry canβt compete against film, television, video games, music. Comics become a footnote at the conventions they were founded to celebrate & made successful.

If you need to read this, soak it in.
It's always been this way. We always had to make ourselves. Just some folks had a tougher run of it. Maybe still do. I can only hope they keep fighting for it.
"Balancing this tension through a specific rhythm of images, a flatness of image, and a contortion of anatomy, Ballard demonstrates his capacity to compel his reader visually... Ballard doesnβt tell jokes, he renders them. They are funnyβwhen you see them." - @solrad.bsky.social

the official gambling app of United States democracy
Itβs donβt kill yourself Monday.
DO NOT USE CHAT GPT.
I'm already sick of "It's all a distraction from Epstein" replies. This regime is killing innocent people because our leaders are all power-hungry tyrants and war profiteers. When you say it's "just a distraction" you minimize the gravity of what's happening and the lives lost.
Iβm going to piss on the grave of anyone in my life that voted for this
We out here doodling

JUSTICE THOMAS delivered the opinion of the Court. The United States enjoys sovereign immunity and cannot be sued without its consent. By means of the Federal Tort Claims Act, Congress waived that sovereign immunity for certain tort suits based on the conduct of Government employees. See 28 U. S. C. §§2674, 1346(b). But, in the provision at issue in this case, Congress retained sovereign immunity for a wide range of claims about mail. Specifically, the FTCAβs postal exception retains sovereign immunity for all claims βarising out of the loss, miscarriage, or negligent transmission of letters or postal matter.β Β§2680(b). This case concerns whether this exception applies when postal workers intentionally fail to deliver the mail. We hold that it does.
The Supreme Court's second and final ruling of the day, USPS v. Konan, bars lawsuits against the Postal Service for maliciously and intentionally refusing to deliver someone's mail. It's 5β4, with Gorsuch joining the liberals in dissent. Bad decision! www.supremecourt.gov/opinions/25p...
Remember when I said NYC Mayor is one of the most powerful executive offices in the country? Honestly a lot of it is this kind of stuff. In many jurisdictions "I'm gonna hire 1000 people for a couple days for $30/hr" would require months hearings and council votes to actually do.
The Toxic Fan Cycle.
- What is this?
- I like this.
- I LOVE this!
- I OWN THIS.
- I... don't own this???
- ...I hate this.
- I WILL DESTROY THIS.
It's actually pretty comparable to all kinds of toxic love.

How the fuck is anyoneβs takeaway from the last several months βthe economy is badβ and not βthe government is building concentration camps and subjecting people to wildly inhumane and often homicidal conditionsβ ???? How can you serve voters if youβre not even able to say that with a full throat?
In my day we didn't have all this autism.

So there's this really obscure Danish fantasy series from the early 00s, that doesn't really have a translation as far as I'm aware that I think about a lot (periodically, but again right now), because the plot goes as follows:
Call your house rep and tell them to support HB 2540 which will increase the amount disabled people can save from $2k to $10k and remove the marriage penalty where you lose your only source of income if you get married regardless of how little they make. Switchboard: (202) 224-3121
This post is going around again so I will add this excellent resource: leavesubstack.com
This is well put. So *many* technologies are joyous and progressive. The web was invented in a PUBLICLY FUNDED UNIVERSITY! It is, in fact, an aberration that the fascist VCs think they're the default with their approach to tech. They were only ever supposed to be a tiny fraction of the ecosystem.
