This is a scandal at the heart of the NHS …
Far too much centred around the virtues of motherhood and far too little about feminist class struggle
My t-shirt that says 'yeah, i think male poets sometimes believe that sharing their emotions on stage is the same as being emotionally mature' remains ever relevant, especially seeing who male poets choose to honour on International Women's Day
A photograph of Untitled, an installation featuring an enormous, ragged tapestry with loose tendrils created from raw, unprocessed hemp. Attached is a large bone like fragment where photorealistic embroidery depicts a lit match held against skin and white embroidered spiderweb like clothes.
A photograph of a large bone fragment on a black wall under which is piles of dead leaves. On the bone fragment is photorealistic embroidery of a black person's hand and legs as they kneel beside water, lighting candles.
Visited The White Cube in Bermondsey yesterday with friends, which currently has an exhibition by Klára Hosnedlová, called Echo. I love embroidery, it's one of my hobbies, so really enjoyed seeing this masterful technique up close. I loved the scale of the work and how it filled the gallery space.
Cis people need to pay attention to the way they communicate this. They freely admit that after all of their research, they came up with zero evidence that HRT was harmful.
Then they banned it anyway, claiming their inability to find a reason is a reason in of itself.
And in red!
Yes, the French booksellers association forced the Paris Book Festival to drop Amazon sponsorship due to Amazon "seeking to flood the market with fake AI-generated books, promoted by fake reviews, written by fake readers [which rise] to the top of fake rankings"💥 MORE OF THIS, PLEASE 💥
I enjoy Stephen Graham Jones work, so knew that I would probably enjoy The Buffalo Hunter Hunter, but glad to have it confirmed, it is excellent and I think the choices made for the audiobook were wonderful, adding voice layering and sound design enhanced the experience

Starmer and friends have moved the country *right* and to deny that is to give a middle finger to the many people they have hurt
This is an incredible chart from Al Jazeera.
It shows just how barbaric US foreign policy has been, bombing ten countries this century.
The United States is a nation addicted to war.

This, 1000 times over. You cannot beat the weapon that is "the hatred of sexual freedom" by agreeing with it, even tacitly.

Picked up Lost in the Garden by Adam S. Leslie ( @deadinkbooks.bsky.social
) by chance and I'm enjoying it so much! The prose carries me along so well, it's delightful and the entire pun section was perfect to read aloud to my pun fanatic partner
If you live in the UK, read Elia's article, send it to everyone you know and get to work. This is a critical period in British history and things will get very bad if we don't turn this around. There is much to do and the stakes are huge but we have 3.5 years to make things better. Do it. Please 🙏
When I was child, I read a book about the beast of Bodmin Moor that was on the bookshelf in a holiday cottage and was obsessed

Sonia Sodha * @soniasodha X.com Scrapping the Equality Act would leave the door open to all kinds of terrible discrimination. A retrograde move that would take Britain back to the 1950s/60s, pre equality legislation. There's no public support for that. Tue Trades Union Congress @ @The_TUC• 9h BREAKING E I Reform announce plans to legalise discrimination. More than almost anyone else Sodha’s faux-reasonable anti-trans diatribes in the Guardian - claiming *concern* about women’s rights - contributed to undermining the Equality Act.
If Reform gets in cis women will lose every gain they fought for since the 1960s, thanks to “journalists” like her.

My valentine's started with my partner catching a mouse that has been scurrying around my flat and releasing it down the street. Then they made me a wonderful breakfast and we went out into the city to solve puzzles that involved monuments and city art!

Breaking: on two counts, the High Court has ruled that the Labour government's proscription of the campaign group Palestine Action was unlawful – a win for its co-founder Huda Ammori, who sought a judicial review of the ban
I've given myself hiccups four times today, what is going on!
She has sort of swiped once at them but it's clear that the smell of her is not a deterrent at all, my most useless roommate!
The very existence (let alone the wording) of this consultation is an outrage, but please fill it in anyway, it doesn't take long.
Last night I went to see Do You Love Me (2025, dir. Lana Daher) at the ICA, a documentary about Beirut told through 70 years of archival footage collaged together into a fractured narrative that captures the spirit of the city beautifully, it was a wonderful experience, I highly recommend
Turns out having a cat is not a deterrent if your cat is an OAP, it's not even a Tom and Jerry situation, our cat just isn't doing anything
