Also the Kaiju design is terrible imo. Doesn't have the Eldritch mystery of the S2 ephemeral mind flayer, or the elements of visceral body horror from the S3 flesh mind flayer. It's just big. Big spider. What a finale. Big spider.
That said, everything with vecna in the finale is crazy stupid. Final battle in a weird desert instead of the upside down? Dumb.
All the characters fighting a Kaiju ten times the size of the one in S3? Very stupid.
Vecna corrupted by a sinister rock? Impressively stupid.
While I thought aspects of it were very very stupid, I generally think it's fine. Wrapping up 5 seasons of disparate storylines has to be a hugely difficult thing to do, and while they put themselves in that situation, they did a decent job with it.
