"You’re seeing a new kind of map.

Our Constellation Map reimagines how Indigenous nations can be shown by highlighting relationships, connections, and presence rather than strict borders.

This map displays nations as glowing points linked together in a constellation-like network, with only faint hints of territorial shapes in the background. It’s a way of inviting users to explore Indigenous land, waters, and people through a more interconnected lens."

Screw it let's just give a preview now. If you make things and you want to sell to retailers, here are a few tips:

1. Most retailers need wholesale discounts ~30-50%
2. If you want a small business to take a chance on your product, offer a low order minimum (at first).

I've joined the jolly Independent Map Sellers and let me tell you, there are some fantastic gifts here! I have a few prints available (heads up Chicago fans, Wendell Berry fans) ... and I'm going to be leaving town, so order by Dec. 3 for delivery before Christmas. πŸ—ΊοΈπŸŽ mapartists.org

Love the high-voltage look of stream connectivity in a flow accumulation raster with the default QGIS Mako color ramp.

Maine is building homes faster, but they are emptier Often-overlooked numbers show how fewer people are living together, inadvertently contributing to Maine's housing crisis.

It's great to see this dimension of the affordable housing crisis getting more attention: new housing units have outpaced population growth in every Maine county since 1970.

@mapesgeog.bsky.social , makes me think of your work!

Bluefin tuna swimming in blue ocean

Bluefin tuna swimming in blue ocean

Small afternoon rant: we need to stop talking about the ocean in terms of β€œsecrets” & β€œmystery”. That tends to be an excuse for not actually looking at its wonderful (known) richness properly. It’s not a void… it’s a fascinating physical part of Planet Earth. We know a lot and we will know more! 🌊

It's always lovely to unexpectedly bump into collaborative projects. My only task was creating the tinted shaded relief. Tanner Arrington with #CommunityGeographics pulled it all together with the details. #Katahdin #cartography #BaxterStatePark #shadedrelief
