Ealing is huge, it's the Texas of London boroughs. So pleased about the 65 in this world of permanent change. It gives me hope that the 207 may still be winding it's way up the Uxbridge road- a fine location for mountaineering apparently but a long way back to Southall when drunk. Have a lovely Wknd

So, money is the root of all evil then?

In a different life, I used to regularly take a 65 bus from Ealing Broadway to Kingston. The journey had many highlights but the standout for me was the view of the Charlie Chaplain statue in Tommy Steele's garden viewed from the top deck. I suspect it was a different 65 to yours. Keep on Running.

Good effort. Don't worry, Spring almost here, plenty of running opportunities to come. Get well.

That's great. Spring is just around the corner in the Northern Hemisphere and I know from now on there's more daylight, better weather and more running events to think about. I have found looking at last year's stats helps me stay motivated during the Winter months. Keep on Running.

Stumbled on this via an Ellis repost. Really enjoyed it. "finding advantages you can give yourself" attempting a grand challenge I will keep with me - it's top advice. Congratulations on the marathon - BRILLIANT

Wooden fence(horizontal lines) in centre ground with river in background. This fence closes the access path to the Spa Well but it is easy to circumnavigate.

6 miles in 55 minutes. Extended usual by adding 1 of my old dog walks, only to find 5 years of bramble growth is not easy to get through! Lots of snow up the valley but nothing on this route. Lovely light - so energizing, and even the cold North easterly turned into a nice tail wind for the return.

Moi aussi - They fit, they work. All I 've got to do is get them on the right feet.

4.5 miles of my usual, taking about 8 mins and 30s for each mile. Not actually raining but everything is just so wet. Crossed the field and managed the track parallel to the river which only turned swampy as it ended. Glad I did it, if only to release some of those En dolphins for a swim!

Ska and reggae essential in any running playlist.

I would probably need the whole Incredible Shrinking Dickies album to get me up that hill!

Tyne Green Hexham - Another great ParkRun event. About 200 participants. We were all warned about the slippy conditions, particularly at the turn and a slight detour off the mud was a clever alteration. Wonderful turn out by all the marshals who were super positive and encouraging.

Truly Dreich! Though BBC Weather apologists said "light rain with a fresh breeze". Surely this was weather measured inside someone's house? Outside the wind took 2° off the 4°C temperature and everywhere was just sooo wet. As a runner, got to stay positive but had to change my route away from river.

If we were to extend this to the UK as a whole, I guess you could sit nicely between Rough Trade and Two Tone.

Back to usual route along South Tyne river in the North of England. First mile was tough -2/3*C and very wet underfoot. It made me feel embarrassed at my recent complaints of too windy and sandy! Started to feel decent after mile 2. Some evidence of Spring around the corner with snowdrops appearing.

My app reminded me I had entered some sort of virtual 5k thing so I felt obliged. Very slow, round the houses route with the high light being the distraction of lots of kite surfers - all going faster than me. Windy? Oh yes! Ask the folks with the kites.

Yesterday's run - really dodgy internet. 4.5 miles out and back along Madeira Bay, passing Pirate galleon themed restaurant, complete with life size Johnny Depp - Jack Sparrow! Really pleased with deliberate alterations in pace governed by playlist of 2/3 minute ska/punk songs and steady soul/disco.

Hugged the shoreline for a run today. Went for a recce walk yesterday and all was good. However, flippa floppering my way lightly over a sandy beach of what I believed was compacted sand was a different experience to my heavy gait stomping along. Not complaining but achilles and calves are aching.
