Kai, I feel like your calling isn't actually economic entertainment - though that's fine - I sure would like to hear you use your bully pulpit to address these larger issues more, instead of the glossy production (which, again, I appreciate).

This strategy is fine, but so too is closing parallel routes to through-traffic cars, and opening to through-bikes. At the very least, if the will of the elected people doesn't match the optimal, have a fall-back they can support.
All or nothing strategy has a long record of getting nothing, sadly.
