Haven’t been on bluesky in a while.

Every post in my timeline is deepfates posts or deepfates replies.

I assume this is a new feature they’re rolling out - should come with a toggle setting tho

You can choose to just believe the future will be better than the present or the past; there is ample evidence to suggest this. Just as there is ample evidence for the former.

When you become optimistic you’ll find what happens is that the world continues to improve around you

If you believe that civilisation is doomed, society is irredeemable and the world is heading for collapse, you should think about whether this worldview is serving you well.

Did you know you can just choose to believe something different?

It’s possible to genuinely experience this as true and when you do there’s a powerful flywheel effect to it. Same with paranoia in the opposite direction.

Some people believe they are cursed/unlucky and it plays out as true. Some people believe they are lucky/have divine protection.

β€˜Pronoia’ is hands down the most powerful idea I’ve come across recently

*Whereas a person suffering from paranoia feels that persons or entities are conspiring against them, a person experiencing pronoia believes that the world around them conspires to do them good.*

I’m not much of a hippy but I’m happy to entertain notions of animism that present things and places as having an innate spirit.

It’s a useful heuristic and once you see/feel it it’s hard to unsee/unfeel it.

I walked into work yesterday and was immediately struck by how thick and heavy the air inside the building felt and how everything was designed in such a clinical way with straight lines and sharp edges. And how everyone’s body language felt so contained and anxious.

I just got back from a weeklong festival in the middle of nowhere that was a beautiful experiment in decentralised community building and free expression.

Having trouble settling back into work and city life 😬

Huh, the idiosyncrasies of US culture make *much* more sense after reading that
