Heyo! Is this thing still on?
Right? Itβs been 8 years. And in that time our subdivision has gotten crazy crowded and wellβ¦ 2025 has been rough and we have a lot of ugly memories here. Time for a fresh start.
And yeah! Iβm still slowly knitting here and there. It keeps me sane amid all the chaos.
Hey! Iβm good, still floating around. Life has been chaotic, weβre building a new house and Iβm working on my fitness and some new work certifications so my gaming/social media time has been drastically reduced π© So great to hear from you tho, thank you for checking in! :) How are you doing?
Ahhh Boston, Iβve missed you! Next stop, New Hampshire and Maine. π
Orange and grey handknit beanie with a butterfly motif and big pompom on top
Two days. I finished this in two days, which I think is a personal record. Its a gift for a βsecret sisterβ who likes orange and butterflies. π π§Ά
Pattern is called March of the Butterflies by Grey Owl Knits, yarn is Cornucopia and Reapers Rags by Spun Right Round. #knitsky
Finally catching up on the @worldofwarcraft.blizzard.com Midnight Deep Dive - can I just say that I LOVE the concept of the Arator campaign and the Arcantina? Anything going back to the old world to experience it in different ways is a win. Azeroth is still the best thing about the game.
Happy Birthday lady! β€οΈ
Buddy Holly by Weezer comes on.
βFinally! Something popular!β
Wait. This song came out in 1994. Thatβsβ¦ 30 years.
Iβll be over here refilling my pill caddy and drinking my fiber drinks thanks. π΅π»
Tonight Iβm chilling in a Hard Rock Hotel room, listening to the in-room music channel while doing some intricate stitching.
Me: βRemember when Hard Rock used to play music that was actually popular?β
Hubs: βThat is the most old-person thing Iβve ever heard you say.β
Heβs right.
Life update: one more trip to TN this week to close on my in-lawβs house and deal with probate court matters. Itβs been a long road to get here but we finally are nearing the end. I hope to get back to podcasting in October, just in time for Fiber Festival season. π§Ά
Knitty has it right.
Funny enough, when I was in the planning for my podcast, I kept getting advice to use AI for scripting, for graphics, for subject matter, whathaveyou. No thanks. Iβd rather be my authentic weird self, and Iβd rather consume real content from real people.
Dessert mode: ACTIVATE!
Best pie: chocolate silk
Best ice cream: B&J Chocolate Fudge Brownie
Best doughnut: Boston Cream
Best bar: Chess Bar
Best cake: traditional vanilla birthday cake with that super sweet lardy buttercream icing
Best other: Whoppers malted milk balls
I donβt typically do kickstarters, but I am here with bells on. There are so few knitting magazines left, and I love their creative concept for this one.
I had to pick up a laptop and get it setup, so unfortunately no. I spent about 4 hours in the office, so almost a 12 hour day total.
Ideally there will be a sample knitted up so that you know what youβre getting, but otherwise I check Ravelry. :) It has saved me from a few costly mistakes!
Today's commute was 7 hours round-trip. I hope to not have to do that again for a while.
My piece of advice when it comes to expensive yarn, especially if it's indie-dyed, is to understand what you're buying. Some of the prettiest, brightest, most variegated skeins are going to pool when you knit them. Tonals and speckles tend to work up nicer and have more versatility.
I thought it was better than most of the recent ones. It felt very old-school Warcraft to me.
Yep, Iβm so in.
Jasper is our newest addition. Nobody else wanted him because he βlooked sadβ, but he is the sweetest, cuddliest little guy. Big hugs my friend, youβve been going through one of the most difficult experiences we can have as human beings. Take your time to process, grief is not over quickly, if ever.
Most of the killed-off NPCs in Darkshore. I still think about Gwynneth Blyβleggonde for no real reason. Also Astarii Starseeker from the Temple of the Moon in Darnassus.
Really canβt wait for life to normalize again. This week we are out of state AGAIN doing a final cleanout on my in-laws house and getting it on the market. I am waiting for this late summer heat to break because after we get this settled I want a slow, cozy, cool fall.
Iβm honestly just waiting for player housing at this point. I lost interest in any other end-game activities long ago. Itβs just going to be story and housing for me going forward.
Welp. RSV and bronchitis have put a crimp in this weekβs plans. Had to get tested for pneumonia as well, they said its negative βfor nowβ. π This is the worst I have ever felt. I could deal with the congestion, but the fever/chills/aches are what is kicking my ass.
Every day Iβm hustlinβ. π Nah it was a lucky shot.
Those are gorgeous first socks! Youβre so kind, thank you! π₯Ή
Figured out a nice life hack: a recumbent bike is a pretty decent place to get some knitting done. I looped a little bag around one of the side handles to hold the yarn balls so they donβt go all over the floor. Add in an audiobook to listen to and itβs a multitasking dream. Rigby approves.
Surprise! Just dropped a fresh #knitting podcast episode! Today weβre chatting about how I got hooked on arts and crafts and learned how to knit, and I share a few fails and wins from the past! π§Ά youtu.be/CdQkqJow6KY?...
Went to Michaels today and struggled mightily to not bring a disco cat home. $25 is a bit steep but as soon as they go on sale, I might be back.
I was going to release a new podcast today but technical difficulties are real. π Hope to get a fresh episode out in the next couple of weeks! π§Ά #knitting
